Are You In An Emotionally Abusive Relationship?

While it leaves no marks, emotional abuse can sometimes be the hardest type of abuse to understand in a relationship. Emotional abuse is a form of abuse in which a partner uses verbal assault, fear, or humiliation to underline the other person's self-esteem and self-worth. Emotional abuse is every bit as damaging as physical abuse. No matter how old, attractive or smart a person is, he or she can be a victim of emotional abuse. Here are some signs you're in an emotionally abusive relationship.

NAME CALLING- Does your partner constantly call you names? never have anything nice to say, call you nick names that are harsh and extremely rude. This could be one of the signs of an emotionally abusive relationship.

TRUST ISSUES- Does your partner constantly question your whereabouts and what you are doing? If there is no trust at all in your relationship, that isn't really a relationship. There is something wrong if there isn't a foundation of trust.

SEARCHING THROUGH YOUR BELONGINGS- There should be a level of respect and a level of privacy when it comes to your personal things. Just because you and your partner are together doesn't give he or she the right to go through your computer and other personal belongings. Constantly demanding to go through your personal items is a sign of an emotionally abusive relationship.

LET ME SEE YOUR PHONE- This is another invasion of privacy. Your phone is your phone and thats the way it should be, its something that is personal and private. Nobody should go through your phone without your permission. If your partner is constantly demanding things like this, it's a sign of an emotionally abusive relationship. 

PARANOIA- Trust, trust, trust. Is your partner constantly accusing you of cheating on him or her without any proof? That is absolutely one of the worst signs of an emotionally abusive relationship.

WORTHLESS- No body should ever make you feel worthless, but you do because your partner has worn you down so much that you believe that you are worthless. You have no self-esteem left because your partner has changed your beliefs about yourself, that's a sign of an emotionally abusive relationship.
