Now comes the time to find the perfect dress, that will make you feel like you're on top of the world and can nobody pull you down!
Shopping for your dress can be intimidating and overwhelming. The right dress will satisfy both your head and your heart as well has your budget.
When you start to go wedding dress shopping, first thing you think of is probably what style dress would suit your body type. There are different types and styles of dresses; it helps when you have figured out what body shape you have then look for dresses in styles that will flatter your body.
The Rectangle: The rectangle body shape is typically the athletic body type. They usually have a straight torso with the shoulders and hips aligned about the same size. The waist is undefined with a small curve at the hips. This type of body shape usually has a small to medium bust with slim legs and arms. You may look shorter and heavier than you really are. Dresses that flatter this shape are Sheath, Empire Waist, Ball Gown, Mermaid and A-Line, you could have either a portrait or strapless neckline. Luckily for you, most dresses will look good on you!
The Pear: The pear is also known as the triangle body shape. This means that the bottom half of your body, hips and thighs, having more weight than your top half, with a well defined waist. The pear body is a classic feminine shape with bust and shoulders proportionally narrower than your hips. You may also have short and or muscular legs. There are a few styles that will give you a more proportioned look such as the Empire Waist, A-Line or Ball Gown, with necklines of either strapless or circular halter.
The Inverted Triangle: The inverted triangle shape usually means that you’re more top heavy. You typically have broad shoulders, large bust and which they are proportionally wider than your hips. Your hips are narrow and you might have a flat butt. This body is athletic and strong but you can also pull off the illusion of an hourglass, which will give you a more feminine look.
The Apple: The apple shape, commonly known as the circle body shape, is someone who has a full figure. Your silhouette is round; you have no waist definition although your legs may be thin. Your hips and butt might be wide and close in measurement. A fitted bodice is best suitable for this body, either the Empire Waist or Ball Gown with a strapless or sweetheart neckline would be most flattering.
The Hour Glass: The hour glass body shape resembles an actual hour glass. Your shoulders are close in width to your hips. You have a defined waist, much smaller than your hip or bust measurements. You are known to have a curvy shape hence fitted gowns flatters this type of body, such as Sheath, A-Line, Ball Gown, Dropped Waistline and Mermaid with strapless, one shoulder or scoop neckline.
